Konawaena’s Bethany Balucan-Batangan and Waikea’s Bryce Felipe were announced as the Nobu Yamauchi Memorial Scholarship winners at an awards luncheon held after the annual Nobu Yamauchi Memorial Golf Tournament on June 11, at Hilo Municipal Golf Course.

Konawaena’s Bethany Balucan-Batangan and Waikea’s Bryce Felipe were announced as the Nobu Yamauchi Memorial Scholarship winners at an awards luncheon held after the annual Nobu Yamauchi Memorial Golf Tournament on June 11, at Hilo Municipal Golf Course.

Balucan-Batangan is a 2015 graduate of Konawaena High School. She will be attending Olympic College in Bremerton,

Washington and plans on majoring in Business Administration.

Felipe is a 2015 graduate from Waiakea High School. He will be attending Hawaii Community College in Hilo and plans on majoring in Digital Media.

Both student-athletes have been in the Nobu Yamauchi RBI Organization for four years. They will received a $500 check from the Nobu Yamauchi RBI Organization for college expenses.

The awards luncheon was held at Kim’s Restaurant at the Hilo Muni.
